Complying with Local Laws
All state and local governments have enacted laws and ordinances that restrict the use and display of signage and lighting, particularly in commercial buildings and motor vehicles. Before displaying your Lightfilm™ product, first check your local and state laws to determine what restrictions may apply.
For example, some states restrict the placement of signs in a motor vehicle to ensure that a driver’s view of the road is not blocked. Other states prohibit the display of certain colors of lights such as red and blue so that drivers do not confuse your car for an emergency or police vehicle. Some states restrict the placement of interior lights and signs on motor vehicle windows altogether.
Although the use of Lightfilm™ products may not be specifically addressed in laws, provisions of such laws addressing signage (posters, non-transparent material, and stickers) and lighting may be applicable to Lightfilm™ products. We recommend that you check your state and local laws on the use of signage and illuminated devices in the areas where you plan to use your Lightfilm™ device.
You can often find your state and local laws published in your local library and on the web site of your local government. You can also try calling your local law enforcement agency for a copy of relevant laws.
In addition to government laws, privately imposed restrictions, such as those imposed by condominium associations and commercial landlords, may restrict how and where you may display your Lightfilm™ products.
